The 17th Tour de Langkawi takes place for a second year its new calendar position, later in February and again welcomes a rich selection of Asian and European racing talent.

 

Though there will be only one major climbing stage, the day to Genting Highlands, the Tour's length at 10 stages, along with the tropical heat, makes this race always a difficult and highly competitive race.

There are 2 Pro Teams, 7 Pro continental teams, 10 continental teams and 3 national teams who will be participated in 2012 Tour de Langkawi, totally 22 teams, 132 cyclists. The competitive intensity and the luxury of the lineup can be regarded as the most one since ever.


In the past Le Tour De Langkawi, the one who got a good rank in the Genting Highlands may also has an outstanding performance in GC ranking. But in this year, the committee will break the previous arrangement in racing track, especially at the first station of 20km individual time trial, to make all Time Trial elites have more chance to show themselves, as well as making the event much more wonderful.

Team history
RTS Racing Team, was known as Giant Aisa Racing Team before, which got the team GC 1st place in 2007 le tour de Langkawi.
The team has an excellent climbing rider, Jai Crafowd, who got the 2nd place in GC 2009, and also David Mccann,
who got the Champion in six Irish National Champion Time Trial events.

Jai Crafowd got 19th place and Alex Coutts 56th place in GC of 2012 Tour Of Oman.
The two excellent climbing riders are expected to have a good performance
in the 6th station of Genting Highlands.
 
There will be a further development for David Mccan and Lee Rogers who are good at time trial event
in the newly setup individual 20K's time trial event of the first station this year.
                                                                                     
What’s more, two excellent young Taiwan riders - 
Jin Lung Huang and Wan Chung Huang will also compete for the best Asian rider.
